Application completed.....Again ;)

I am feeling like such a pro at this application stuff lately! This one was a lot easier since, well I have done it all before.;0) It was nice to be done with it and get those medical forms off to our Dr.'s office. She too must feel like a pro on the medical adoption paperwork. Our Dr. was so kind to squeezed us in her busy schedule and she even completed all of it in less than 30 minutes! We owe her big time! I will be mailing off our paperwork tomorrow to the State and County, after that we wait for the call to schedule our interview. :)

It also has been a busy, and crazy week, we decided to go in partners with my Dad, brother and sister in law on a little vacation house that my dad inherited from my grandfather a few years back. He has had it as a rental but brought up the idea after he lost his last tenant. We all missed having a place to stay in the mountains where we grew up and wanted our children to experience all the wonderful things the area and small town has to offer. Fresh mountain air, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, sledding, beautiful mountains, rivers, beautiful lakes, well you get the idea. It wasn't a hard decision for any of us and within 3 days we gathered up any extra items we had between us, along with items our friends and family kindly donated and off we went to fill our new families vacation home. Our hard working hubbies (T and my brother) and son moved everything in before 2 p.m. and this is after driving the 4 long hours, well 5 for T since he drove the U Haul. Everything was coming together we were all happy and really enjoying our new home until....we get a mandatory evacuation notice. A huge fire broke out and was threatening our home.:( We couldn't believe it! Within minutes we had to load up all kids, pack up as much as we could and leave the area. Keep in mind we had my 3 kids little R who's only 15 months and my brother with his twins who are preemie 6 month olds. Also keep in mind within the last 24 hours we packed a U Haul, woke up at 5 am , drove 4 hours, unpacked the U Haul and dealt with very tired babies. Needless to say we were a wreck! Luckily at the next town North(town my brother and I grew up in) about 20 miles up we were able to find 2 hotel rooms. We were lucky since they closed the hwy both directions so all hotels were filling up fast. That was a very hard night on all of us, all the unknowns along with our children who were so exhausted and babies are NO fun when over tired in unfamiliar territory. ;) All we could do was again let go of trying to control the situation and pray. The next morning we awoke at 5 a.m. to roads open and evacuation lifted in the area of our home. Thank GOD we all said!!! We were one of the luck ones, as some families were not and lost their homes. Our hearts just broke for them. I think it takes times like these to realise just how precious life is but also the important things in life, and its not a home that makes a home its the family and we knew no mattered what happened we would be okay because we were safe and had each other. I continue to pray for the families who lost their homes but know if they have a strong family like ours, they will be just fine.:)

God Bless~

  1. That doesn't sound like a "perfect" vacation, but I also think it's one that may have bonded your family even more. It seems that when we goes through times like this we come out closer than ever. You will all be able to look back and remember this adventure for years to come. :)
